If you're like me, you're wondering where November went. I had two calls with my fabulous editor, Dakota, where we finalized the book's copy, and she set a few goals for me.
One of the goals was to write a back-of-the-book blurb. Not only will this be what potential purchasers read while in a bookstore (such as my favorite local indie bookstore, The Book Juggler in Willits, CA), but also the description that appears on Amazon and other online retailers. The pressure was on to create something that would capture a reader's interest quickly and want to purchase the book. Click over to my website to read the final version of the back-of-the-book blurb.
The next goal was to write my author bio. I find it difficult to write about myself and to know what people would be interested in knowing about me. So, there is an initial bio on my website you can check out and let me know what you think.
Declan submitted the storyboard for all of the illustrations for Oliver's Garden. The sample shows just how perfectly Declan has captured Oliver in the orchard. My editor was really happy with the storyboard, so Declan is now working on producing the final illustrations. Stay tuned for more!
I also want to take this time to thank everyone who has sent well wishes or stopped me in town to talk about my book. Your support means so much to me, and I am so grateful. I hope that everyone will help to spread the word about Oliver's Garden.
