Q:  Do you really live in a forest?  

A:  Yes!  We live on the edge of a beautiful redwood forest in Northern California.  There is nothing but forest between our house and the ocean (about 30 miles).

Q:  Does Oliver really like all these fruits and veggies?

A:  Yes!  Oliver has always loved the garden and especially the snacks.  

Q:  Does your garden have a name?  Is it Oliver's Garden?

A:  Yes, the garden has a name, but it's not Oliver's Garden.  The garden is actually named The Garden of Remembrance.  The garden has many roses and art that were our grandparents' and other loved ones', and is a way for us to keep them in our thoughts.

Q:  Is the illustrator related to you?

A:  Yes!  Declan is my middle son, and I am so happy that he has been a part of this project.

Q:  How long have you been working on this book?

A:  Oliver's Garden has been on my mind for about 5 years. 

Q:  What is your writing process?

A:  I would imagine telling the story to a young child and recording the story.  I did this about ten times throughout the five years.  I then merged them into what is now Oliver's Garden.

Q:  What breed is Oliver?

A:  Oliver was adopted from our local animal shelter, so we are not positive, but we were told he is a Maltese mix.
