Just over a year ago, I sent my book to a laundry list of publishers, hoping at least one would be interested in Oliver's Garden. I received four offers and moved forward with Atmosphere Press. What a learning experience the publishing process has been. It hasn't all gone smoothly (fingers crossed my books show up before the launch), but it's been rewarding nonetheless.

September 15 is the magic date when Oliver's Garden will be available for purchase. It's also the launch party, and I hope to see each of you there. I will have (hopefully) hardcover and softcover books available to purchase and to have signed or personalized. Oliver will be on hand for photos, and there will, of course, be lots of merrymaking.

If you plan to purchase Oliver's Garden online, please support local independent bookstores before going to the big online retailers. Every purchase at an independent bookstore makes a difference.

So, you may ask, "What's next?" Now that the book is being published, the real work of promoting begins. Over the next year, I hope to attend several book fairs and local events. I am also working on my next book, although Eleanor has not been as helpful with her storyline. We will see where she takes me.
